A Contemporary outdoor garden room, burley in wharfedale.

The client wanted a complete revamp of the front and back garden as there was little planting interest in the garden and the paving/patios were too small and of poor quality.

The main area requiring redesign was in the south west facing corner outside the kitchen door to create an spacious outdoor dining space.

A new retaining wall was constructed along the boundary to extend the level space outside the kitchen to create a spacious dining space for comfortable sofas, coffee table and a wood burner as well as a hot tub.

Pleached pear trees were planted to give instant screening.

The side garden was transformed by removing the grass and planting a prairie style mix of ornamental grasses and perennials to enjoy from the new dining space.

The new evergreen hedge Prunus lusitanica was added for all year screening on the boundary.

Client review.

“Helens design for our garden has changed our family life. The teenagers actually join us in the garden in our new relaxed seating area and we spend so much time on our garden now. Each day new planting interest gives me joy.”
